A House of Prayer for ALL People

When Jesus lived among us, he went out of his way to reach out to the outcasts of his day; tax collectors, the blind, the halt and the lame, the lepers, the prostitutes as well as ordinary fisherfolk. He was equally at home with the religious authorities as well as the rich and the powerful. The Gospel message comes through loud and clear. And the Episcopal Church has embraced the teachings of Jesus by being explicit; namely, that God's love includes everyone, irrespective of race, ethnicity, class, gender or orientation. Everyone comes within the embrace of God's love.

Integrity USA is an advocacy group within the Episcopal Church that embraces this teaching. We at St. Peter's are a chapter in formation of Integrity and we welcome your interest and participation.

The Millenium Development Goals

The Millenium Development Goals are an effort of the United Nations and many churches around the world to end poverty. We invite you to become ONE with us in the effort to end poverty. The ONE Campaign is a movement of Americans of all beliefs and every walk of life, united as ONE to help make poverty history. Join this historic campaign, as ONE by ONE we change the world. We advocate for Dioceses and Congregations as well to become ONE as we look to all for hope. To learn more click here.

The Episcopal Relief and Development Fund also provides and effective vehicle for the support of The Millenium Development Goals.

American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem

For some years I have represented the Diocese of West Virginia in advocacy for the church's work of reconciliation in a difficult part of the world. Fr. Esber Tweel and I led two high school groups on Pilgrimages to the Holy Land. We learned a great deal about the people who live there; Christians, Muslims, and Jews. The American Friends support the work of hospitals, schools, and congegations in the Middle East and the ministry of our church there is nothing short of heroic. To learn more click here.

Safe Church Practices

Among the church's highest priorities is the safety of our children. The Episcopal Church mandates that every priest undergo an independent ouside agaency background check before moving to a new church, and that all who work with children receive the church's "Safe Church Practices" training. To find out more about Diocesan Policies and Safe Church training go to our Diocesan Website.
